As part of the 4YFN (4 Years From Now) in Barcelona, GSIC participated in the event with the objective of strengthening connections across the global sportstech ecosystem and identifying new opportunities for collaboration, innovation and growth. As part of the GSIC Testing Lab activities and with the support of València Innovation Capital, the participation focused on three main areas aligned with GSIC’s mission of connecting startups, sports entities and industry partners.
Connecting with emerging sportstech companies
One of the key priorities during the event was engaging with startups developing technologies applied to sport. Meetings were held with companies working across areas such as performance analytics, fan engagement, AI applied to performance, and B2B SaaS platforms for the sports industry.
These conversations allowed GSIC to present the value creation model of the GSIC ecosystem, including opportunities for collaboration with sports entities, pilot projects, testing environments and industry connections.
For many of these startups, GSIC represents a gateway to connect with sports organizations and corporate partners while accelerating their international growth.
Institutional engagement and ecosystem collaboration
The event also provided opportunities to connect with representatives from regional governments, economic development agencies and international institutions interested in supporting sports innovation.
During these discussions, GSIC shared examples of collaboration programs developed with public institutions and ecosystem partners, including international scale-up initiatives and market studies designed to facilitate cross-border expansion for sportstech companies.
These conversations highlighted the growing interest from public institutions in leveraging sport as a platform for technological innovation, economic development and international collaboration.
Strengthening the global sportstech network
Beyond individual meetings, participating in 4YFN allowed GSIC to reinforce its role as a connector within the international sports innovation ecosystem.
Events like 4YFN bring together startups, investors, corporations and public institutions, creating a valuable environment to identify emerging technologies, explore partnership opportunities and expand the global network of organizations working at the intersection of sport and technology.
