Madrid, Spain — January 21, 2026. The Global Sports Innovation Center (GSIC) Powered by Microsoft today announced the relaunch of its GSIC Powered by Microsoft Ambassadors Program, an enhanced global initiative designed to strengthen GSIC’s international presence and accelerate the adoption of innovation and technology across the sports industry.
Building on the success of previous ambassador initiatives, this renewed edition will appoint a global network of 20 senior professionals who will act as GSIC representatives in key markets, helping connect local sports stakeholders with GSIC’s global ecosystem, expertise and innovation opportunities.
Founded in 2015 by Microsoft, GSIC connects a global ecosystem of organizations, experts and innovators, with activities in more than 70 countries and offices in Madrid, Singapore and Valencia. Through strategic initiatives such as the GSIC Testing Lab, GSIC supports sports organizations and industry players in identifying, validating and deploying technological solutions across the sports sector.
A stronger global footprint through trusted local leadership
The enhanced Ambassadors Program expands GSIC’s presence worldwide by appointing experienced professionals in priority territories. Ambassadors will represent GSIC in their respective countries, supporting the organization’s mission to accelerate innovation in sports through ecosystem building, strategic introductions and collaboration opportunities.
The program follows a performance-based model, designed to align ambassadors’ activity with GSIC’s international growth objectives. Ambassadors will support GSIC’s expansion by facilitating strategic introductions, identifying partnership and business development opportunities, and connecting sports organizations, startups and innovation stakeholders with GSIC’s programs, services and global network.
Ambassadors will be selected based on seniority, a minimum of three years of professional experience in the sports industry or entrepreneurial ecosystem, strong local networks, and demonstrated commitment to innovation and community development. The role is not full-time, allowing participants to maintain other professional responsibilities. Appointments will last one year, with renewal based on activity and engagement.
Territories included in the program span Europe, the Middle East, Africa, the Americas and Asia-Pacific, with professionals from additional regions encouraged to apply.
Training, access and global recognition
Selected participants will receive training and onboarding on GSIC’s strategic initiatives, including innovation programs for sports entities, the GSIC Sports Innovation Testing Lab in Valencia, and access to the online course “AI & Innovation in the Sports Industry,” developed with Founderz.
Ambassadors will gain global recognition, exclusive access to GSIC programs and insights, and opportunities to engage with sports organizations, startups and technology leaders across GSIC’s international network.
Application process
Applications should be submitted through the GSIC online form and will be reviewed throughout January 2026. Shortlisted candidates will be contacted for brief interviews, and official appointments will begin in February 2026.
