The ability to monitor movement in real time, personalize treatments based on objective data, and extend biomechanical assessment beyond the clinic are some of the breakthroughs being driven by SMART REHABI II, a project that combines biomechanics, advanced sensing technologies, and artificial intelligence to transform rehabilitation and injury prevention.

The initiative has recently reached one of its most significant milestones with the completion of the platform’s technological integration phase. This achievement has enabled the connection of the different modules developed throughout the project and resulted in a first operational beta version of the system, consolidating a digital ecosystem designed to support patients, healthcare professionals, and sports practitioners alike.

The platform integrates motion-monitoring capabilities through wearable sensors, remote follow-up tools, and data analysis functionalities aimed at providing a more objective and continuous assessment of users’ functional status. Through this connected architecture, relevant information on the progress of patients and athletes can be collected and analyzed, generating valuable insights to support evidence-based clinical and sports decision-making.

One of SMART REHABI II’s most innovative features is its ability to extend assessment and monitoring capabilities beyond the traditional laboratory or clinical setting. Through digital tools and remote monitoring systems, the project brings advanced biomechanical analysis technologies into the home environment, enabling more accessible, continuous, and personalized care.

During the final phase of the project, expected to conclude this summer, Podoactiva will focus on the functional validation of the platform in real-world environments. These trials will include high-performance sports settings with the objective of optimizing system performance and ensuring its readiness for future large-scale deployment.

SMART REHABI II continues to pave the way for more predictive, personalized, and accessible rehabilitation models, bringing cutting-edge technological innovation closer to patients and athletes while contributing to a new approach to injury prevention and physical performance enhancement.
