Madrid, April 16 — The Global Sports Innovation Center (GSIC), powered by Microsoft, today announced the appointment of Jose Ardila as GSIC Americas Lead, marking a key step in opening new opportunities across the Americas for its global ecosystem.

With over ten years as a global reference in sports innovation, GSIC has built a curated global network as a core strategic asset, connecting more than 20,000 sports industry executives, profiling 2,500+ startups across more than 80 countries, and supporting 250+ sports entities in defining and solving real industry problem statements through technology, adoption, and demand generation.

Jose brings a strong consulting mindset shaped by his experience at Accenture, where he led business development and partnership initiatives in fast‑paced, technology‑driven environments. He pairs this with a lifelong involvement in sport, including experience as a coach, hands‑on work with sports technology companies, and founding his own sportstech startup.

In his new role, he will lead GSIC’s activity across the Americas, working closely with sports organizations, startups & mature tech companies, brands, governments and the entire sports-tech ecosystem to foster collaboration, generate opportunities and strengthen connections between local and global stakeholders.

GSIC operates as a connected global platform, with teams and activities across Europe, Asia and America, where Sports entities share their problem statements and the GSIC members inspire, demonstrate, pilot and deploy their solutions. GSIC acts as a trusted advisor of sports organizations and governments, while driving demand generation and internationalization for the tech companies.

Jose’s arrival strengthens our global platform and our ability to connect the sports ecosystem across regions,” said Iris Córdoba. “This step reinforces GSIC’s role in opening opportunities for our members and partners, wherever they operate.

Through its expertise in matchmaking, testing, open innovation  programs, AI in Sports training, mentoring and content creation, GSIC continues to position itself as a trusted partner for decision-makers across the sports industry.
