Iñaki Fernández is an entrepreneur, engineer, and founder of FBASE.Tv, a digital infrastructure platform helping football clubs automate video, analysis, and operational processes.
With more than 20 years of experience in technology, product development, and innovation, he has led projects in automotive engineering, connected vehicles, mobility, digital platforms, and sports technology. His career includes collaborations with companies such as Mitsubishi Ralliart, Lotus, Prodrive, SEAT Sport, and NEVS.
Today, he focuses on helping grassroots football organizations become more efficient, transparent, and sustainable through practical digital transformation. He also serves on the Board of Directors of Reus FC Reddis, contributing to strategic and technology-related initiatives.
Grassroots football does not need to become increasingly complex or technology-driven to improve. In many cases, the biggest impact comes from focusing on the fundamentals: creating better experiences for players, coaches, clubs, and families.
This session explores what truly matters in grassroots and academy football, how to measure and manage it effectively, and how common sense often delivers better results than unnecessary complexity. Drawing from real-world experience, we will discuss practical ways to improve player development, club culture, engagement, and long-term sustainability.
The session will also explore how better grassroots football creates benefits far beyond the game itself, contributing to personal growth, education, social development, and stronger communities. Technology can play an important role, but only when it serves people and helps make the sport more enjoyable, accessible, and meaningful for everyone involved.
